WHERE DO WE LIKE TO GO?

My passion is the history of art and to travel: I travelled for a long period in South America and Asia and my job became for me an indispensable instrument to better know history and art.
It is for this reason that I feel to be able to suggest you itineraries in the cities of art, history, nature and gastronomy, in the cities or surroundings, groups and for individuals, for half-day or full-day tour.

About me

TRAVEL WITH ART AND CULTURE LOVERS

"...Even Petrarch’s self, if judged with due severity, is the Platonic pimp of all posterity."(Lord Byron)

FEW WORDS ABOUT MY JOB AS A GUIDE

I live in Veneto in the Euganean Hills and my passion is History of Art and travel.
After having attended a professional tourist institute, I improved my knowledge of foreign languages through
personal experiences while living for some months in different countries.
My specialization as a local tour guide in the Veneto region and also as an ‘Accompagnatrice Turistica’ (Tour Leader)
has extended over a period of 20 years. I have worked for the most well known Italian travel agencies/tour operators
(including those for foreigners). I also have a qualification as a Naturalistic Guide and as Technical Director for travel agencies.
I love nature, history and art: they became my indispensable ‘tools of the trade’ to transfer to my role as a tour guide.
Because of my vast experience over the years working with different groups and nationalities, I feel fully qualified
in suggesting itineraries specific to any particular passion such as tours for art, history,
nature or gastronomy, both for groups and for individuals, for a half-day or a full-day tours. With personal consultation,
we can design a tour that suits your time and interests.
Roaming the beautiful cities, Venetian villas, and the Euganean Hills in the Veneto region,
tours can be organized with the ‘classical route’ by van or, if preferred, a walking tour by trekking in the hills,
which of course would include stops for tasting wine or the local cuisine (comfortable shoes an indispensable item).
Let’s create a tour together tailored to your specific needs!

"LORD BYRON visited ArquA'Petrarca in 1817"

“When amatory poets sing their loves In liquid lines mellifluously bland, And pair their rhymes as Venus yokes her doves, They little think what mischief is in hand; The greater their success the worse it proves,
As Ovid ‘s verse may give to understand; Even Petrarch’s self, if judged with due severity, is the Platonic pimp of all posterity.(Don Juan)

J.W. Goethe, Italienische Reise

“Heute besuchte ich das eine halbe Stunde von der Stadt auf einer angenehmen Hoehe liegende Prachthaus, die Rotonda genannt.....Vielleicht hat die baukunst ihren Luxus niemals hoeher getrieben..“

POETS AND WRITERS WHO WROTE ABOUT VENETO

"Voi ch’ascoltate in rime sparse il suono di quei sospiri ond’io nutriva ‘l core in sul mio primo giovenile errore quand’era in parte altr’uomo da quel ch’i’ sono…"

"Siamo nella parte più dolce, e quasi più greca, del Veneto;greca, si capisce, alla veneta; fra trevigiano e vicentino il venetismo del paesaggio raggiunge un massimo di equilibrio e di grazia."
"We are in the gentler, almostmore Greek, part of the Veneto. It’s a Venetian-style Greek, of course. In the Treviso and Vicenza areas, the Venetiannes of the countryside achieves a pinnacle of equilibrium and grace."

"Questo luogo mi riempie d’ammirazione come cinquant’anni fa: e ciò non è dir poco, dato che esso fu per così dire, il primo luogo italiano su cui posi piede, essendo io venuto a Venezia per mare e da Venezia subito qui…"
"This little place which strikes me – as it did fifty years ago, which is something to say, considerino that, properly speaking, it was the first spot of italian soil I ever set foot upon – having proceeded to Venice by sea…and thence here…"

“From Padua I diverged to Arquà to Petrarch’s present & former habitation –the present is in the best repair – but both are rather ragged & somewhat poetical”

SHELLEY : October 8, 1818

“We have been living this last month near the little town from which I date this letter (Este)...
Behind us here are the Euganean hills, ...Arquà where Petrarch’s house and tomb are religiously preserved and visited.”

PUMPKIN FLOWERS

Hors d’oeuvre
Ingredients: Pumpkin flowers – flour – milk – salt – oil for frying
Remove the parts attached to the stalk of the pumpkin flower. Mix the flour with milk (or beer) to obtain a soft but not watery mixture. Dip the pumpkin flowers into the mixture and fry in boiling oil until golden brown, add salt and serve.

RICE AND PEAS

“Risi e bisi”
Ingredients: 3kg of peas – onions – chopped parsley – 50gr. Of extra virgin olive oil – 1 stalk of celery – grated Grana Padano – 200gr of vialone nano rice – 1 carrot – salt – 4 litres of water - 50 gr. Butter
Pod the peas and put the pods into a pot with 4 litres of water, the celery, one onion, one carrot, salt and cook for about 2 hours thus obtaining a vegetable consommé. Put the peas into a small pot with the oil, the chopped onion, the parsley, salt and half a glass of water. Cook for about 30 minutes. Place the cooked pods in the vegetable mill in order to obtain a dense mixture which can be mixed with the vegetable consommé mixing continuously. When half cooked add the peas. A few minutes before serving add the butter and the Grana Padano cheese. The soup obtained is liquid, it is not a risotto. It is eaten with a spoon and served in a bowl.
